Dance makes me feel rejuvenated on the daily. I can be athletic. I can be artistic. Dance allows me to combine my love for music, movement, physicality, and innovation all into one entity. I view dance in several different ways, which mirrors my individual way of thinking. Dance will always be evolving and full of growth. I love that I can feel all of my muscles work in different ways, but can also be creative with my movement process and have purpose to it as well. Dance, in this way, is both a mental and physical validation for me.
Dance makes me feel well-rounded and mature as a human. It has given me confidence and drive. The discipline in training paired with the sense of community and collaboration involved with being a dancer is a huge learning process, and I think that it has made me not only better able to communicate with others, but also more driven in my work. This inspiration from others is what leads me to progress and is what fuels my creative process. I feel confident that I will be able to turn this passion into a career-whether it be through performance, choreography, teaching, administration, or whatever comes my way. I love the many connections that dance has with life skills. Dance is simply a part of my being, and the constant influence it has on my life is something I will forever cherish.
